Only 3 games but from the evidence Billic looks more canny setting up the team to defend and counter attack away from home than at home where the onus is on us to attack.
I guess we'll know more after tomorrow's game and the next home game.
We still don't know if the Arse game was a one off with them just starting the season badly?

I think about this frequently. I would be astonished if the players don't read sites like this, and even more astonished if the negative comments didn't adversely affect them either in attitude or confidence.

I wanted to see if Johnson (or anyone else for that matter) thought that if players read a lot of negative things about themselves and/or their team mates performances it had any effect on them.

Johnson, of course things are reset in June, everyone gets 0 points don't they, plus in our case we got a new manager and a slew of new players, that's a fucking reset in my book

I know my opinions count for bugger all (not unreasonably) but about ten years ago on this site, I commented that it seemed that a sizeable minority of football fans, not just West Ham fans, seemed to be moving away from the concept of supporting their clubs, to considering themselves more like consumers of a product. Maybe more comparable to theatre goers. Might explain why some of the more excitable elements feel aggrieved and those who are still at the 'supporter' level, psychologically, are more stoic.

Geezer next to me never came back for the second half he was that LIVID.
It's because form seems to be a continuation of last year and stand out bad performances will make it look like the team is as lost as it was post-Xmas.
Add to that people getting the hump with the stream of bollocks about competing and the top 6 looking over their shoulder, whilst appearing to do little to actually make that happen and it's a recipe for nervousness and negative reaction.
I don't subscribe to all of it but it's easy to see why it's happening. Win a few games at home and it'll all go away again.
That's just human nature.

I found the reaction after last weeks game quite hysterical.
It wasn't just social media but at the game also and it wasn't just the under 21's getting angry but grown men who have more than likely seen so much worse following West Ham.

Jury is out on Billic until at least New year but if we carry on every game the way we did the last two then sooner.
I don't expect him to be able to improve everything overnight but I do expect the basics like organisation and diclscipline to not be a problem.

Are you sure? when i last looked we were weaker in goal, weaker at RB, weaker in MF and weaker up front (ok up front is mainly due to injuries)
In midfield we no longer have available: Song, Downing, Amaltifano, Nolan, Poyet and we have only brought in Obiang and Payet as replacements....how is that improving the squad?

I'd forget the form at the end of last season because it's a different manager and an improved squad. To hold Sam's record over the head of Bilic like some kind of urine soaked Sword of Damocles is, to be frank, fucking stupid. The change of manager and personnel is reason enough to put last season behind us.
I agree about the confidence but we've lost two games this season, we made a good account of ourselves in both defeats and it's not like we're being played off the park.
Out of interest, do you think players read any of the forums and if so, what effect do you think all the negativity and histrionics has on them?
